Daniel joined Avenue in 2019 as the Census Community Organizer and currently serves as the Community Advocacy Program Coordinator in Avenue’s Community Initiatives Department. His work includes coordinating and implementing Avenue’s Advocacy Fellowship and Language Justice Programs, as well as working with Community residents of the Greater Northside on Advocacy and Organizing related activities. Daniel is a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, having obtained a B.A. in Government and Education. Before coming to Avenue, Daniel had an extensive background in Community and grassroots organizing, being a part of the undocumented youth movement for more than a decade in various roles. Daniel’s experience as an immigrant from Mexico has profoundly shaped his values. Daniel values Community leadership and believes that everybody has a voice and the power to be the change they want to see in the world.
