Greater Northside residents & leaders come together to celebrate Avenue’s “Stories of the Northside”

This Thursday, residents and leaders from the Greater Northside area will come together to honor their community with a screening of “Stories of the Northside,” a short film created in collaboration with Avenue, Houston Metropolitan Research Center and the University of Houston- Downtown to capture Northside residents’ life stories and preserve them for future generations.

Organized by Avenue, the event will help celebrate the Greater Northside community’s progress over the last year. It will highlight a number of successful community-driven initiatives, including Avenue’s Rebuilding Northside Together and “Our Northline: A Health Equity Plan,” a comprehensive action plan designed to improve the quality of life for working families.

This celebration coincides with NeighborWorks Week. Every year, Avenue and its partners join exceptional neighbors across the country in a week of neighborhood change and awareness.
