Houston's Largest Silent Art Auction
During these unpredictable and uncertain times, we are grateful for and humbled by the generosity our community has shown in supporting Art on the Avenue this year. When we said we would be returning in 2020, bigger and better than ever, an online and virtual event was not exactly the party we had in mind. But you all showed up for us this year - close to 600 of you showed up! Whether you experienced Art on the Avenue at home or came to Winter Street Studios - you showed up for Avenue and for the communities that we serve. Your generosity helped us raise over $115,000 to support Avenue's community initiatives, family asset building programs and affordable home developments. In addition, more than $18,000 was given back to the local artists who generously contributed pieces to the auction. Thank all of the amazing Houston artists who contributed original works to this year's auction, to our co-chairs, Shamsa Mangalji and Pawan Kapoor, guest juror Molly Glentzer, livestream hosts Diana Lerma Pfeifer and Anton Edwards, Art coordinators - Mark Parthie, Tami Moschioni and Michael Healey, and all of the hardworking volunteers, Art on the Avenue committee members, Avenue staff and board. And, of course, we want to thank our generous sponsors and donors. Their gifts, along with the proceeds from auction sales, are what will continue to fund Avenue’s asset building, affordable housing, community engagement programming and covid-relief efforts in our communities.
Thank you for your bids, for your time, for your generosity, and for your continued support of Avenue especially this year. We look forward to seeing you back at Winter Street Studios in 2021!
