In March, Avenue and Tecolotl Collective hosted a Building Language Justice workshop with 17 community members in attendance. The workshop gained consensus around the importance and necessity of having multilingual community spaces and how to create them.
During the workshop, we launched the Interpreting for Justice Training Fellowship which is currently seeking bilingual applicants for the Spring 2022 Cohort. The program is an 8-week course designed to develop skills as community interpreters. We are very excited to conduct this training for the first time. Applications close March 23rd.
