“Houston’s largest art auction with names to watch for and collect.” —PaperCity
“Show-stopper” —Houston Press
“Greatest place to buy local art” —overheard at last year’s event
More than 250 artists contribute to Art on the Avenue—Houston’s largest silent art auction and annual fundraiser for Avenue. This annual event raises funds to enhance the quality of life of working families, and to promote healthy, vibrant, and economically diverse neighborhoods to ensure Houston’s future as a world-class city.
2017 brings new ways to win with mobile bidding, and a reprise of last year’s delectable bites, curated wines, local brews and lively musicians. Attend the exclusive Preview Party on Thursday, November 9, 2017, for a sneak peek and early opportunity to bid on your favorite works before doors open to the public for the Auction & Party on Saturday, November 11. VIP tickets also include entry to the Saturday event.
“It is such a great cause because affordable housing allows for a more diverse and interesting community and artists thrive in a richer and more complex urban texture. It’s inspiring! That’s why you see the tremendous generous donation of art works to this auction by the creative community.” —Joe Havel, Glassell School of Art
“The work of providing affording housing and community development done by Avenue is so important for valuing and supporting our diverse neighborhoods and population here in Houston.” —Dianne Webb, Next Iteration Theater
“Every purchase helps us improve the lives of working families and enhance neighborhoods through our affordable housing and community revitalization initiatives.” —Mary Lawler, Avenue executive director
