Art on the Avenue raises funds for Avenue CDC to improve our Washington Avenue and Near Northside community by developing affordable housing and increasing economic opportunities, while preserving our area's cultural, economic, and historic diversity.
Preview Party - Thursday, November 6
This is your first chance to see and buy the art. Entertainment will include Two Star Symphony and a special performance of "Plywood Love Song" by Loreta Kovacic and the Ludewiggs plus Sahira. Refreshments are generously provided by Beaver's, Kraftsmen Baking and MAK CHIN's. The Preview evening honors Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P and Exxon Mobil Corporation's Law Department's support of Avenue CDC.

12th Annual Auction - Saturday, November 8
In addition to showcasing the works of more than 200 Texas artists, Art on the Avenue provides live entertainment, beer and wine, and excellent food. Refreshments are being generously provided by El Patio and Georgia's Texas Grassfed Beef, Free Range Poultry and Organic Produce. The event also auctions vacation packages, jewelry, and other items provided by local businesses.

Art on the Avenue has a strong tradition of excellent attendance, wonderful artwork, and sucessful art sales benefiting Avenue's programs as well as participating artists. Last year, over 1,000 people attended the event, which received great exposure via the Houston Chronicle, Houston Symphony Magazine and Paper City. More than 200 artists entered 546 artworks in the show. The event raised more than $100,000 for Avenue's community programs, and it returned an additional $37,000 from art sales to local artists.
